Titans game brings Giants fans

I had 9 Giants fans on the tour yesterday from NJ. They came in for the Titans Giants game tomorrow. I enjoyed giving them the Local Tastes of Nashville tour. I think their favorite food was the reuben from the Mad Platter

TN history

View of capitol I am learning some interesting new history facts to add to my tour, Local Tastes of Nashville. Did you know that the 19th amendment to give women the right to vote was added to the Constitution after TN ratified it in 1920?

Fun couples!

Friday was such a fun tour! The weather was perfect which helped. I had two retired couples who hit if off and talked the whole tour. At the bells at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall one couple danced to the Tennessee waltz and both couples sang the Tennessee waltz and  Take me Out to the Ballgame….

2nd test tour

Friday was a beautiful day for the second test tour. I also got some good feedback and helpful advice. Several friends on the tour wanted me to talk more about Mary Catherine Strobel. I am glad they did because when I researched more about her life I was very encouraged about her legacy and also the legacy her son, Father Charles Strobel are making. United Way started a Mary Catherine Strobel volunteer award after her death and her son has been very active in helping out the homeless through Room in the Inn ministry. They are a wonderful example of love in action, faith and forgiveness.

First Tour!

Even though we had to dodge rain and Oktoberfest set up, we had a fun first tour! Thank you to everyone who participated in this first “test” tour and thank you to all my wonderful restaurants, B & C BBQ, Lazzaroli Pasta, The Red Bicycle Coffee and Crepes,The Mad Platter, and The Cupcake Collection.

Walking soon!!

I am getting more and more excited thinking about starting up the walking food tour. The weather is beautiful and I am ready to get out there and start walking and meeting new people. Germantown is so active now, with new homes, condos, restaurants and shops going up constantly. There are several upcoming events and great things to do in the North Nashville Germantown area.  The very popular Oktoberfest is October 10-12 and  The Tennessee History Festival is October 17 and 18. More to come!!
